PEDIATRIC PHYSICAL THERAPY, Occupational Therapy, & WELLNESS SERVICES,
TO HELP YOUR BABY MASTER YEAR ONE—AND BEYOND
When your baby struggles to eat, play, and get comfortable, you may feel overwhelmed, worried, frightened, or sad.
The great news is, torticollis, body tension, tongue/lip ties, feeding challenges, and resulting motor delays are very treatable conditions. With early intervention, proper treatment, and active participation you will see progress week after week.
A pediatric physical or occupational therapist specialized in infant development can relieve discomfort, pain, avoid helmet-wearing, improve feeding experiences, and help your baby reach their developmental milestones.
The therapists at Year One Wellness are also trained in therapeutic bodywork and oral motor techniques to support bottle feeding, breastfeeding, solids, and improve challenges related to tethered oral tissues (tongue/lip ties).

We couldn’t be more thankful to have them in our lives
“We sought out Year One to address our 3-month old daughter's body and neck tension and asymmetries….In just a couple of visits, they helped us make great progress and my daughter is moving so much easier. She now actually seems to enjoy spending time on her tummy and doing her oral motor exercises.”

Amazing with our Baby
“The therapists at Year One are amazing with our baby. We started for a routine checkup on torticollis and continued our sessions to work on milestone development….I highly recommend Year One Wellness, even if you don’t have any specific concerns about your baby, the routine development stuff is great.”

Virtual visits available for all of Texas.
See progress week after week with our gentle, musculoskeletal and movement-based approach.
All physical therapy evaluations include a comprehensive assessment of your concerns, including torticollis, body tension, head shape, feeding function, reflux/gas, tethered oral tissues, and motor skills.
TORTICOLLIS (TIGHT NECK)
& BODY TENSION
A condition most commonly caused by in-utero conditioning or injury to the neck muscle during childbirth. Symptoms may include head turn preference, head tilt, neck or body muscle tightness, head flattening, feeding difficulties, and difficulty with tummy time.
PLAGIOCEPHALY
(HEAD FLATTENING)
Head shape symmetries or flat spots due to prolonged pressure on the skull, most commonly due to torticollis, low tone, body tension, prematurity, or NICU stay. Early intervention is key for this condition and to avoid a cranial helmet.
MOTOR MILESTONE
DELAYS
Help with achieving motor milestones such as tummy time, reaching, rolling, sitting, grasping, crawling, walking, running, and jumping through fun and easy-to-implement activities.
Feeding Difficulties (Breastfeeding, Bottle Feeding, Solids, and Picky Eating)
Get help with breastfeeding, bottle feeding, solids, and picky eating. Your infant will receive a thorough feeding elevation including assessment of oral motor, gross motor, and nervous system function.
Oral Motor Dysfunction & Pre/Post Tongue Tie Rehab
Therapeutic prep and rehabilitation are essential for optimal outcomes from a tongue tie release. Oral motor skills will be assessed to help determine if a tongue or lip tie release is necessary. Wound healing and functional exercises will be continued after the procedure to ensure improved oral function.
Manual Therapy & Bodywork
For the babies with discomfort and/or colic: get relief from body tension or nervous system dysregulation through a combination of therapeutic interventions including gentle muscle stretching, massage, myofascial release, craniosacral techniques, joint mobilization, and functional movement.
Prematurity & Other Medical Conditions
Developmental therapy to help motor skill achievement for medical conditions including, but not limited to prematurity, cerebral palsy, hip dysplasia, club foot, down syndrome, muscular dystrophy, and other genetic, neurologic, and orthopedic conditions.
